Tom Baloga – BMW

Tom Baloga is the Vice President, Engineering US for BMW of North America, LLC., and President of BMW Technology Corporation in the USA. Mr. Baloga is responsible for US Engineering involving Environmental, Safety, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Product Development and Requirements, Product Analysis and ConnectedDrive activities of the BMW Group. The BMW Group includes BMW vehicles and motorcycles, Husqvarna Motorcycles, MINI and Rolls Royce.
Prior to joining BMW, he was the owner and principal of INIT LLC., an innovation consulting company; President of Britax Child Safety, Inc.; Manager of Safety Engineering for Mercedes-Benz USA; and a Senior Test Engineer for Mack Trucks, Inc. He is the primary inventor on eight US and numerous foreign patents.
While at Britax, Mr. Baloga served on the Board of Directors for Public Safety Equipment, Code 3 and Kustom Signals, and was the creator of the Britax Roundabout, Marathon and Bodyguard child-safety seats.
Mr. Baloga has appeared on “60 Minutes,” “20/20,” “Nightline,” “Good Morning America,” ABC News, CNBC and other national and regional programs. Interviews and his quotes on automotive issues often appear in USA Today, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, United Press International, The Washington Times, AutoWeek, Design News, Automotive Engineering, CNET, The Globe and Mail, Auto123, The Atlantic Monthly and other media outlets in the US, Canada and Germany.
Upon invitation of the US Congress, Mr. Baloga has provided testimony before both the US House of Representatives and the Senate of the United States.
