Jeff Ruel – Autoliv Active Safety

Jeff Ruel is the Director, Business Development, at Autoliv Active Safety.

Mr. Ruel began his career working in a number of different start-up companies where his entrepreneurial interests took root. In 2001, he joined a team of specialists at M/A-COM Technology Solutions that was developing innovative radar technology for the automotive market. Jeff served as Project Lead for the development and launch, in 2005, of the industry’s first 24GHz Ultra Wide Band short-range radar. He was then responsible for the successful promotion and deployment of the technology to numerous automotive OEMs for end-user safety features that include Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Autonomous Emergency Braking, among others. In 2008, M/A-COM’s radar systems business was acquired by Autoliv Inc. where Mr. Ruel has since played a key role in developing the business to a leading position by leveraging a broad portfolio of sensing technologies including radar, far infrared, mono and stereo vision systems.

Autoliv, a global leader in automotive safety, is a Swedish-American company with headquarters in Stockholm. It sprang from the 1997 merger of the Swedish company Autoliv AB and Morton Automotive Safety Products, Inc., a division of the American firm Morton International. Autoliv works with 100 car brands in some 29 countries around the world, and credits its products with saving more than 30,000 lives per year.
