Luke Fletcher is a Senior Manager at Toyota Research Institute where he is the technical lead for the Guardian project. He also leads the Risk Aware Trajectory Planning and Control teams.
An Australian native, Luke previously investigated the fabrication and assembly of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CRFP) structures at Boeing Research & Technology – Australia. In 2007, Luke was a post doc on the MIT DARPA Urban challenge team and continued as a Research Scientist on the related Agile Robotics project at MIT. In 2006, Luke completed a PhD from Australian National University on driver inattention detection fusing eye gaze and road scene computer vision.
Luke is obsessed with how we see and how we make decisions in ambiguous situations.
